"Naples is a thousand colors ..." and today, the sea is of such an intense blue that we feel lucky to be here, in a sunny, joyful Naples, ready to finally breathe an air of freedom. We are setting out to discover the most fascinating city in the world led by a Neapolitan DOC ... are you coming with us?
Welcomes us to Naples Carmine Russo who, with his ROSSOCARMINIO brand, creates unique headbands and hats, handcrafted in the atelier of Chiaia, the good living room of Naples.
Carmine, what have you got into your head?
"Something unique, original and a beautiful" rossocarminio "my favorite color. Naples is my city and I always love to highlight that typically Neapolitan creativity that made it unique. For this reason I concentrated on headbands and hats : unconventional accessories, never banal that certainly do not go unnoticed. Many of my clients choose them for an important event or ceremony and then end up wearing them every day. "
Where do you get your inspiration from?
"From nature, from flowers in particular. But my color palette is always very ... Neapolitan!"
So would you like to accompany us to discover Naples?
Of course! I have selected for you some addresses to discover on foot, strolling through the city center or taking our famous metro which, with its stations created by great artists, is a real work of art!
Let's start with a great hotel: I always recommendHOTEL SAN FRANCESCO AL MONTE because it is in the center, but in an uncrowded spot and has a fantastic restaurant with terrace from where you can admire the classic panorama of Naples, with the sea and Vesuvius always present! The hotel is a former monastery that brings to light the ancient residences of the monks and the spectacular city below to experience Naples from a new perspective.
My atelier is in Chiaia, inside THINKING OVER, a concept store with particular attention to design. Revolutionary and innovative proposals for Decorating, Home Interior, Flower Arrangements, Home Inspiration, Photo Art. Not to be missed.
Then I suggest you take two more steps on foot to find yourself in the beautiful MUNICIPAL VILLA of Naples overlooking the LUNGOMARE CARACCIOLO, a pleasant walk, surrounded by urban greenery, where you can visit the oldest AQUARIUM of Italy, which has just reopened to the public after a long renovation. A real gem that welcomes an important exhibition of Mediterranean flora and fauna.
And if you have little time available but you cannot resist the idea of taking a bath in Naples, it is worth continuing towards POSILLIPO until the BATH ELENA, the historic historic bathing establishment that extends over a volcanic beach. A stone's throw away the beautiful PALAZZO DONN'ANNA, designed in the seventeenth century by the famous architect Cosimo Fanzago.
For an aperitif, I often go to theANTIQUE DEALER, The first "speakeasy" style cocktail bar where the atmosphere is the envy of the sets of Kubrick's films: red velvet curtains, wallpapers, sofas, soft lights, mirrors, a piano and an elegant and sophisticated bottle shop with timeless charm retro, it doesn't feel like Naples but the cocktails are very good.
It is already dinner time: I propose theOTHER COCO LOCO, which is among the best fish restaurants in Naples and has joined the MICHELIN 2021 Guide
